SPELD NZ'S SUBMISSION TO PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY ON DYSLEXIA, DYSPRAXIA & AUTISM

RADIO NEW ZEALAND INTERVIEW WITH SPELD NZ
In case you missed it, here’s a chance to listen to SPELD NZ’s recent
interview on Radio New Zealand National. The “One In Five” programme
focuses on the parliamentary inquiry into identification and support for
pupils with dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism spectrum disorders.
WHY IS SPELD NZ TEACHING SO EFFECTIVE?
In 2010 the New Zealand Council for Educational Research did research to find out.
Their evaluation shows SPELD NZ teachers:
BUILD good relationships - they understand and respect students
CAPTURE students' interest and motivation by using a strength-based approach
BOOST students' self-esteem and confidence
ENGAGE students with learning
