Unpack this evidence-based, research-backed approach to developing writing skills across all year levels and subjects

Be prepared for a hands-on webinar that will equip you to put ThinkSRSD into practice immediately. Self-Regulated Strategy Development, or SRSD, is a structured and explicit instructional model designed to empower students with writing and self-regulation skills. The SRSD model focuses on providing students with clear and simple strategies to support their writing, while also teaching them to plan, monitor and evaluate their progress as they write.

Delivery method

A 2.5 hour hour recorded webinar presented by Elena Ciobanu. Comprehensive extra resources for this course are also provided.

Elena brings a wealth of experience from different teaching and learning environments in New Zealand and overseas. Like all SPELD NZ-trained teachers, she is passionate about making learning accessible to all. As a teacher she specialises in working with adolescent learners across all areas of the curriculum including literacy and mathematics. As a facilitator, she provides educators with the skills and knowledge they need to put the science of learning into practice. Elena is currently working as a PLD facilitator (Structured Literacy) for the MOE. She has worked with hundreds of professionals on all aspects of structured literacy in primary, secondary, and intervention settings. Elena brings the most up-to-date evidence-based practices and strategies to life in practical, accessible and achievable ways.
