Board Chair
I was honoured to be elected chair of the board in 2022. It’s great being associated with an organisation so focused on improving people’s lives.
I’ve worked my entire career in education, starting out as a secondary teacher and then working for the Education Review Office, Careers NZ and Te Papa Tongarewa the Museum of New Zealand. I’m currently the chief executive of the Springboard Trust, a not for profit that supports school leaders in their strategic leadership.
I very much believe in the need for a strong education system if we’re to survive and prosper. SPELD NZ provides an important component to that objective and has a record to be proud of.
I live with my partner, Lena, in Auckland and our two young grandsons live nearby. I am very interested in history and heritage, reading, films and our natural environment. We love our extended family and marvel at our grandchildren’s early learning.
